يدفع علم النفس الثقافي، أحد أبرز الاتجاهات المعاصرة في الأنثروبولوجيا النفسية صوب مقاربة وبحث "واقع" الأرواح، والآلهة، والأشباح، والتلوث الروحي spiritual pollution، والفئات الانفعالية غير المألوفة، وذلك من منظور ابناء الثقافة انفسهم. وعليه تحددت أهداف هذا البحث على النحو التالي: (۱) استجلاء الصيغ والتصورات الثقافية الكامنة في المعنى الثقافي للروح (۲) الكشف عن تصور المحليين أو أبناء الثقافة، وتأويلاتهم لماهية الروح. (۳) الكشف عن المعاني الثقافية المتعلقة بالعلاقة الروح بالجسد. (٤) استيضاح تصورات المبحوثين وتأويلاتهم للتناسخ أو التجسد الجديد للروح. (٥) استجلاء راقات المعنى الثقافي التاريخية الكامنة أسفل المعنى الثقافي الآني للروح. وقد توسل هذا البحث بمنهجية انثروبولوجية كيفية ارتكزت في جمع البيانات على أدوات الملاحظة بالمشاركة والمقابلات شبه الموجهة. وانطلق من إطار نظري موجه قوامه الاتجاهات التأويلية الجير تزية وما بعد الحداثية. وقد خلص البحث إلى عدة نتائج من اهمها: (۱) يتسم التصور والتأويل الثقافي للروح في مجتمع البحث بالغموض، ويقنع بكونها سراً إلهياً. ويتماهى مفهوما الروح" و "النفس" في أذهان المبحوثين (۲) تكشف نتائج البحث عن تصور أحادى للروح (احادية الروح). (۳) يؤشر المعنى الثقافي للروح على أنه ليس ثمة انفصال مستديم بين الجسد والروح حتى بعد الوفاة. وأن ثمة وحدة تجمع بين الجسد والروح. إذن لا يقع ثمة انفصال دائم بين الروح والجسد، أو بين الموتى والأحياء، أو بين عوالم الدنيا والآخرة التي تعتبر الحدود بينها نفيذة. ويرفد تصور ومعنى التلازم والترافق بين الجسد والروح من تصور المصري القديم للعلاقة بين الجسد والروح (٤) يعتقد أفراد مجتمع البحث في التناسخ أو التجسد الجديد للروح. ويتبدى الاعتقاد في تناسخ الأرواح في كثرة من الممارسات والمعتقدات التي تشتمل عليها الثقافة الريفية.
Abstract
 
Cultural psychology, one of the most prominent current approaches in psychological anthropology, urges researchers to recognize the "reali-ty" of souls, and of gods, spiritual pollution, and unfamiliar emotional categories for those people who lives, embody, and express them. Therefore the present qualitative study focuses on: (1) Elucidation of cultural schemas and conceptions lie in the cultural meaning of soul. (2) Revealing indigenous views and interpretation of the essence of soul. (3) Uncovering the cultural meanings concerning the relationship be-tween soul and body. (4) Clarification of indigenous people's perceр-tions and interpretations of reincarnation. (5) Exploring the historical strata of cultural meaning lies under the synchronic cultural meaning of soul. The present study used an anthropological qualitative methodolo-gy relied for data collection upon: participant observation, Semistruc-tured interviews. And it was moreover oriented by Geertizian and post-modern interpretive approaches. The findings revealed that: (1) Cultur-al conception and interpretation of soul is ambiguous and consider it a divine secret. And the concept of soul is identified with the concept of breathe in the minds of indigenous people. (2) The results revealed a singular conception of soul (singularity of soul). (3) The cultural mean-ing of soul indicates that there is no standing or a permanent separa-tion between soul and body in life or death; and there is a unity be-tween them both. This means the there is no a separation between soul and body; the live and the dead; this world and afterlife. The conception and meaning of Concomitance between soul and body flows into the view of the ancient Egyptian of the relationship between body and soul.
 
(4) Informants believe in reincarnation. And this is evident in a plenty of beliefs and practices involved in rural culture.
