There are many words and idioms related to the desert environment in Arabic, which is one of the characteristics of Arabic that distinguishes it from other languages. In the use of vocabulary, agricultural nations and nomadic civilizations have their own characteristics.
The study of the translation skills of Chinese-Arabic idioms is also a study of the cultures of the two nations. In order to master the translation skills, we must have a deep understanding of the cultures of the two nations and the cultural background of the idioms to translate better. The Arab nation is the representative of nomadic culture, while Chinese civilization is the representative of agricultural civilization. The two civilizations have similarities in many aspects and differences in more. Looking at the developmental history of the two civilizations, they have evolved differently, resulting in many idioms with distinct national characteristics.
When exploring the translation of idioms, we must deeply understand the similarities and differences between the civilizations and cultures of the two nations. This has certain significance for cross-civilization communication. Therefore, the author will discuss the two major cultural issues of Arabic in two aspects: on the one hand, the life of the ancient Arab nomads will be discussed, and on the other hand, discuss the relationship between Arabic and Chinese through translation between the two languages.
This paper attempts to reveal the importance of Arabic and Chinese in the academic world. The author will analyze the characteristics of Arabic and Chinese from a sociolinguistic perspective. The purpose of this study is to illustrate the flexibility and richness of Arabic and Chinese. It can also help students in China and Arab countries better understand the concept of semantics.
