للدراما القنوات الفضائية دورًا هامًا فى ترسيخ وتعزيز عناصر الهوية الوطنية لكونها تجسد أحداث ومشكلات المجتمع، وتسهم فى حلها، كما تعد الدراما مرأة الشعوب والمعبر عن قضياها وأمانيها وتطلعاتها وتسعى لمعالجة أوجه القصور المجتمعى، وللدراما أهمية كبيرة لكونها اصبحت واحدة من الممارسات اليومية للفرد، تعد الهوية الوطنية وتعزيزها في المجتمع الإماراتى ضرورة وطنية، وخاصة فى ظل التحديات الحضارية والثقافية والأزمات التى يعانى منها العالم كافه والوطن العربى خاصة وتمثل الهوية رابطة روحية ضميرية بين الفرد وأمته، بمقتضاها يسعى إلى إعلاء شأن الأمة ورفع مكانتها بين الأمم، وعدم الاهتمام بالهوية الوطنية والمحافظة عليها، يمثل خطورة تنعكس على مستقبل الدول.

National identity is the fundamental pillar from which a person starts in his belonging to a country or nation; it is the engine that drives the individual to do everything he can for his homeland. National identity and its promotion in the Emirati society represent a national necessity, especially in light of the civilizational and cultural challenges and crises that the entire world and the Arab world are suffering from. The study clarified the meaning of national identity, the components of national identity, the functions of national identity, and finally the sources and foundations of national identity. The study relied on the descriptive analytical approach, and reached a number of results, the most important of which are: National identity represents all the basic characteristics that make each person unique, and it consists of a large number of personal characteristics. The components of national identity are represented in language, religion, history and heritage.
