فقد تناولت الدِّراسة التعرف على التَّغيُّر الذي طرأ على حِرفَة الفُخَّار بقرية "الفرستق" وصناعة الأَثَاث بقرية "كتامه"، وذلك من خلال ابراز الضوء على هاتين الحِرَفتين في شكلهما التقليدي، الذي مازال قائمًا ومنتجًا حتى الآن، ومعرفة شكلهما المتطور، الذي استطاع أن يستفيد من تقنيات جديدة متطورة وأخذ (معرض تُراثُنا) كمثال فعال لتنمية الحِرَف التقليديَّة. وترجع الأهميَّة التطبيقيَّة للدِّراسة في أنها تقدم محاولةً لعرض نظم إنتاج الفُخَّار والأَثَاث من حيث وصف أماكن العمل داخل وِرَش حِرفَة الفُخَّار وصناعة الأَثَاث، والأدوات المستخدمة داخل وِرَش الفُخَّار والأَثَاث، والمواد الخام المستخدمة في الإنتاج، ومراحل إنتاج المواد والمنتجات الفُخَّاريَّة والصناعات الخشبيَّة، وأنواع المنتجات المُصَنَّعة داخل الوِرَش، وطرق تسويقها. كما ترجع الأهميَّة التطبيقيَّة للدِّراسة في أنها تقدم محاولةً لعرض طريقة تقسيم العمل داخل وِرَش الفُخَّار والأَثَاث، وطبيعة علاقات الحِرَفيين داخل الوِرَش وخارجها، والأغاني والأمثال الشعبيَّة الخاصة بحرفة الفُخَّار وصناعة الأَثَاث، بالإضافة إلى أنها تقدم محاولة لعرض مشكلات ومظاهر التَّغيُّر في حِرفَة الفُخَّار وصناعة الأَثَاث. ويتمثل الهدف الرئيس للدِّراسة في معرفة التغيرات التي طرأت على الحِرَف التقليديَّة والعاملين بها أثناء النقلة من المجتمع التقليدي إلى المجتمع التِّقني. أمّا عن الإجراءات المنهجيَّة لهذه الدِّراسة، فقد اعتمدت هذه الدِّراسة على المنهج الأنثربولوجي باعتبارها دراسة وصفيَّة وتحليليَّة، في محاولة لمعرفة مظاهر الثبات والتغير في نوعيَّة العمل الحِرَفي في قريتي: "كتامه"، و"الفرستق"، كما اعتمدت الدِّراسة على المنهج الأيكولوجي ومنهج دراسة الحالة، وتم الاستعانة بأدوات المنهج الأنثروبولوجي (المُقابَلَة، والمُلاحظَة، والإخباريون، ودليل العمل الميداني، والتَّسجيل الصوتي، والتصوير الفوتوغرافي) أما بالنسبة لمجتمع البحث فيتمثل في: قرية "الفرستق" وقرية "كتامه" بمحافظة الغربيَّة، وقد اعتمدت الباحثة على المراجع العلميَّة المدونة، كما قامت بجمع المادة التراثيَّة الشفاهيَّة من خلال ما ذكره الإخباريون، واعتمدت على المُلاحظَة بالمشاركة في جمع المادة البحثيَّة من أبناء مجتمعي الدِّراسة حيث قامت الباحثة بالإقامة الدائمة بينهم لمدة سنتين. أمَّا عن أسلوب جمع ومعالجة البيانات، فهو الأسلوب الكيفي، ويعَدُّ من الأساليب التي تصلح لهذا النوع من الدِّراسات الأنثروبولوجيَّة؛ لأنها مبنيَّة على التحليل الكيفيِّ أكثر من اعتمادها على التحليل الكمِّىِّ؛ لذلك فقد اعتمدت الباحثةُ التحليلَ الكيفيَّ لتطبيق الدِّراسة، ولا يعني ذلك إهمالَ التحليل الكمِّىِّ إذ تمَّت الاستعانة به في بعض البيانات الأوَّليَّة، ثمَّ بعد ذلك تأتي مرحلة تفسير البيانات. Traditional crafts are part of the material culture of Egyptian folk heritage. Traditional industries and crafts are advancing, and in particular they are divided into the pottery and furniture industry, with their ability to provide many possible job opportunities through their reliance on local resources, in addition to being a source for the development of creativity and innovation, which achieves economic balance by raising investment rates and the level of savings. The study came in nine chapters. This study was divided into the following chapters, the first chapter entitled the methodological framework of the study, which includes the problem of the study and its importance, the objectives of the study and its questions, the concepts of the study, the study methods and data collection tools, the difficulties that the researcher faced, the cases of the study, and the time frame of the study. As for the second chapter, its title is the extent to which anthropological studies contribute to the study of traditional crafts. It includes studies on traditional crafts and their development, studies focused on pottery making, and studies focused on furniture making. The third chapter is entitled: The multiplicity of theoretical visions in the study of crafts and craftsmen. It includes crafts from the perspective of functional constructivism, the theory of social cultural development, human capital theory, and cultural capital theory. The fourth chapter was under the title of the craft of pottery and furniture making across historical eras and includes the historical development in the Pharaonic era, the Greek era, the Roman era, the Coptic era, the Islamic era, and the modern era. The fifth chapter entitled the research community and the basis for its selection includes the geographical boundaries of the two study communities, the historical background of the two study communities, the characteristics of the population and economic activities in the two study communities, services and facilities within the two study communities. The sixth chapter is entitled Pottery and Furniture Production Systems and includes a description of the workplaces within each workshop, the tools used, raw materials, production stages, types of products, and finally marketing methods. As for the seventh chapter, it came under the title of work and workers inside the pottery and furniture workshop. It includes the method of dividing work, the nature of the craftsmen's relationships inside and outside the workshops, and child labor between need and acquiring life skills in the two villages of the study. Finally came the ninth chapter, entitled the results of the study and its recommendations, then the references, and this is in addition to a number of appendices that include the first appendix (field work guide), the second appendix (case cards), and the third appendix, a summary of the study in Arabic and foreign languages. The title of the eighth chapter was: Problems and manifestations of change in the craft of pottery and furniture. It includes aspects of change that have befallen the craft of pottery and the furniture industry, and the problems that threaten the craft and industry.
