Abstract

Background: Paternalistic leadership and organizational justice are very important elements for the management teams of various organizations to provide a conducive environment for their employees to work as well as ensure fair and just treatment. Aim: to investigate paternalistic leadership style, and its relation to organizational justice among nurses at Samanoud Central Hospital. Methods: A descriptive correlational design was used with a sample of (267) nursing staff at Samanoud Central Hospital. Tools of data collection were paternalistic Leadership Questionnaire and Organizational Justice Questionnaire Results: Moral leadership had the highest mean score regarding perception toward paternalistic leadership and agent-referenced distributive justice had the highest mean score regarding perception toward organizational justice domains among nursing staff at Samanoud Central Hospital. Conclusion: There was a highly statistically significant positive correlation between benevolent leadership dimension & moral leadership dimension and organizational justice dimensions While there was significant negative relationship between authoritarian leadership dimension and all organizational justice dimensions. Recommendations: Develop a comprehensive onboarding program: This program should include orientation sessions, job-specific training and mentorship programs related to paternalistic leadership style and principals of organizational justice and enhancing nursing awareness of organizational justice by creating a fair incentive system linked to clear performance indicators for all employees to encourage them to perform outstandingly.
