Abstract

This study aimed at: studying the indicators of sustainable economic development in the State of Sudan, as well as measuring the competitiveness indicators of agricultural trade exchange between Sudan and the most important trade partners in the Nile Basin countries, in addition to analyzing the most important strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and possibilities available, which increase the opportunities for agricultural trade exchange between Egypt and Sudan, and to achieve these goals. The study relied on descriptive and quantitative methods in the analysis, presentation of data, and drawing conclusions, which are useful in addressing the problem of the study, which is to measure sustainable development indicators through time series analysis, in addition to measuring the efficiency of Sudan's agricultural foreign trade, using some competitiveness indicators, as well as analyzing the SWOT Model (The most important strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats). Then try to invest the results of those estimates, and employ them to achieve sustainable development, and maximize the volume of Sudan's total agricultural trade exchange. The most important results were as follows:

The average national income was about 59.32 billion dollars, and it was found that the gross national income of Sudan decreased by about 2.87 billion dollars. While the average per capita income was estimated at about $ 1538, and it was found that it decreased by about $ 110 million during the period (2010-2022).
The average GDP was about $ 65.68 billion, and it was shown to decrease by about $ 3.54 billion for the same period, while the average per capita was estimated at about $ 1707, and it was shown to decrease by about $ 130 annually.
Egypt is considered one of the most important trade partners within the Nile Basin Agreement, where Sudan's agricultural exports to Egypt were estimated at $ 416.75 million, representing about 18.59% of Sudan's total agricultural exports to the world, followed by Ethiopia with about $ 6.45 million, representing about 0.29% of Sudan's total agricultural exports to the world for the same period.

 The cotton crop is the largest Sudanese agricultural export to Egypt, as the value of its exports was estimated at about $ 100.88 million for the average period (2021-2023), representing about 26.46% of the total Sudanese agricultural exports to Egypt for the same period, followed by sesame seeds and soybeans with a value of about 70.14, $ 3.38 million, estimated at 14.47%, 0.88% of the total Sudanese agricultural exports to Egypt for the average period (2021-2023).
