Although palm cultivation and date production in Egypt have a relative advantage due to high palm productivity and low production costs compared to other countries such as Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, and the UAE, the climatic conditions in Egypt allow for the cultivation of many varieties and provide opportunities for producing the premium types of dates. This can be accomplished by focusing on semi-dry varieties for both the domestic and export markets, as well as introducing new varieties needed in global markets. Egypt is one of the largest date-producing countries in the world, accounting for about 18% of global production and 24% of Arab production. However, the Egyptian date industry faces many challenges and issues at various stages, leading to a noticeable decline in the quantities of dates exported. Therefore, it has become essential to study future forecasts for the production and export of Egyptian dates and to identify the mechanisms needed to enhance the competitiveness and export efficiency of dates in global markets. The state has paid significant attention to this sector over the past five years, which will contribute to increasing production and the number of fruitful palms in the coming years. Consequently, a substantial surplus in production is expected, requiring effective strategies for manufacturing and exporting.
