Abstract
Health Eguity in Egypt: Challenges and Confrontation
Hasnaa Salama Ahmed
The research aimed to identify health equity and its determinants, as well as health equity gaps in Egyptian society, by analyzing the most important health indicators and monitoring disparities and inequalities in health outcomes, those that constitute fundamental issues in the field of equity, human rights and achieving sustainable development. The research also presented the challenges facing the Egyptian health system and the efforts made by the state to reduce these disparities and promote health equity. It was concluded that improving the health status of citizens and investing in their health is not the responsibility of the health system alone, but requires the concerted efforts of all to eliminate those disparities rooted in unfair policies that establish the continuation of social structures, reproduce poverty, and increase the size of vulnerable groups. Therefore, we must work to dismantle these structures and build policies that enhance justice. So that everyone enjoys equal access to health resources and opportunities, within the framework of a fair distribution of those resources.
