Abstract

Egypt is considered one of the first countries to produce the silk needed for the manufacture of various textiles, but this industry declined due to several factors, most notably the abandonment of raw silk producers from this profession, due to the country being flooded with silk imported from abroad at acheap price, especially from China. The project is based on producing worm cocoons. Silk for the production of natural silk on an area of one acre, where the total amounted to about 51.8 thousand pounds. The total fixed costs amounted to about 349 thousand pounds, which represents about 63.25% of the total costs, and the total operational costs amounted to 202.8 thousand pounds, which represents about 36.75% of the total costs. The total project revenues also amounted to about 325,485,705 thousand. pounds in the second, third, and fourth year, respectively, as it was shown from the results obtained that all financial indicators were positive, which necessitates continuing to invest in the project. The project is expected to generate a return of 38% compared to the prevailing average interest rate of about 27%. The project will also be able to cover the invested capital within 2.45%,meaning only approximately two and a half years of the project's life, within 20 years as the expected life of the project.
