تذخر العامية المصرية بكثير من الكلمات ربما لا تعود لأصول عربية، والغريب هو أن تجد هذه الكلمات نفسها توجد أيضا في لغات قديمة مجتمعة، مثل: اليونانية والقبطية واللاتينية والسريانية معًا، أو في بعضٍ منها، هذا ما سوف يتناوله هذا البحث من خلال علم الاشتقاق (Etymology)، مع عرض لاستخدام كل كلمة منفصلة في معاجم اللغات السابقة أو في بعض منها. ويُناقش البحث هذا الموضوع من خلال ثلاثة محاور أساسية، المحور الأول: مفردات العامية المصرية المستخدمة في الحياة العامة، المحور الثاني: المفردات الكنسية المستخدمة في العامية المصرية، المحور الثالث: الكلمات المستخدمة في البيئة الزراعية في العامية المصرية.
Abstract
Daily Egyptian colloquial speech is rich with many words that may not be of Arabic origin. Interestingly, some of these words can be traced back to ancient languages such as Greek, Coptic, Latin, and Syriac—either shared among all of them or present in some. This paper explores this phenomenon through an etymological approach, investigating the use of each word in the dictionaries of these languages. The study examines this topic from three main perspectives: (1) Words used in everyday public life within Egyptian colloquial speech. (2) Ecclesiastical terms that have found their way into Egyptian colloquial language. (3) Agricultural terms commonly used in rural Egyptian speech.
