Abstract

This research explores the potential of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in enhancing the management of public spaces and improving visitor experiences. Public spaces are vital in urban environments; however, they often face challenges related to inefficient resource utilization and suboptimal user experiences. This study aims to identify strategies for optimizing the performance of these spaces through IoT technologies, focusing on enhancing energy efficiency, implementing smart lighting systems, improving waste management practices, and enhancing safety and security measures. The research methodology involves a comprehensive review of existing literature knowledge and an analysis of various case studies. This approach allows for an evaluation of how IoT technologies are applied in urban contexts, highlighting best practices and the challenges encountered in their implementation. The findings provide a framework for understanding how to improve public space management effectively. The results emphasize the importance of integrating IoT solutions in the design and management of public spaces, contributing to a better quality of life for residents and visitors alike. The study recommends that policymakers, urban planners, and facility managers leverage these technologies to create more vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive public environments, thereby fostering greater social interaction, recreation, and cultural exchange.
