Abstract

The League of Arab States (LAS) established the Administrative Court of the League of Arab States (ACLAS) in order to litigate for employees and previous employees of the LAS, including deputies and their heirs. Litigation is initiated by means of filing a lawsuit directly or by way of intervention.
The jurisdiction of the Court encompasses every organisation, body, institution, centre, or organ, attached to or emanating from the League of Arab States and its employees, including employees who have or have previously had a working relationship with the League of Arab States. The mechanisms of litigation available have a special nature. Indeed, the Statute and Rules of Procedure of the Court clearly and accurately define the litigation procedures that can be used by the Court.
The Administrative Court of the League of Arab States played a major role in settling disputes before it. It heard many cases over many decades and established many important legal principles.
