The study aims to identify the role of agricultural cooperatives in agricultural and rural development in Egypt during the period (2004-2022). The most important results were that the agricultural credit cooperative societies ranked first among the agricultural cooperative societies in Egypt in terms of their number, the number of their members, and the area of their control. Their number reached about 4,469 associations, at a rate of about 74.36%, followed by the cooperative societies for agricultural reform, which numbered 761, at a rate of about 12.66%, then the cooperative societies for reclaimed lands, which numbered 678, at a rate of about 11.28% of the total number of agricultural cooperative societies in Egypt, which amounted to about 12.66%. About 6010 associations. The total value of investments in activities in multi-purpose agricultural cooperatives increased from about 362.5 million pounds in 2004 to about 8,101.3 million pounds in 2022, an increase of about 7,648 million pounds, with an overall average of about 3,009 million pounds. The contribution of cooperatives to the financial services provided to farmers decreased, as the average area benefiting from these financing services provided by the Agricultural Bank of Egypt to agricultural cooperatives for the winter, summer, and Nile agricultural seasons was about 8.11%, 6.45%, and 49.17%, respectively, of the average cultivated area for each season at the level of the Republic. .
