The research aims to draw inspiration from selected works by contemporary Egyptian art groups. It begins by studying these groups historically, focusing on their key ideas, philosophies, and artistic styles. The study also highlights selected works of famous artists from these groups, emphasizing their artistic and visual significance. The ultimate goal is to create innovative printed curtain designs using specialized computer software, based on the pioneering role these artists played in shaping modern art in Egypt and the Arab world. Art groups in Egypt and Iraq played a key role in the spread of refined visual culture during the mid-20th century, notably through important periodic exhibitions and theoretical writings in media. The research also covers the application of Chromic inks in general and Thermochromic materials (color-changing under Heat)-in particular- in curtain printing to present interactive design concepts.
Statement of the Problem: The practice of creating art in groups is one of the artistic approaches that emerged in the modern era in the West, leading to the formation of art collectives in Arab countries, particularly in Egypt. Each of these collectives has its own philosophy and unique artistic approach. The current research problem is summarized in the following questions: How does the artistic group style generally influence the characteristics of the artistic compositions created by its pioneering artists? How can the diversity of artistic styles and aesthetic values in selected art works by artists from Egyptian art groups inspire contemporary printed designs for curtains? How can modern printing techniques (such as chromic inks and thermochromic inks, specifically) be utilized to create curtain designs that interact dynamically with the surrounding environment?
Research Objectives: The research aims to: Draw inspiration from the structural and aesthetic values in the art-works of selected artists from Egyptian art groups. Creating innovative printed curtain designs by utilizing the works of these artists and proposing a virtual functional mockups for their use. Employ modern printing techniques in the field of curtain printing.
Importance of the Research: Presenting a selection of works by pioneer artists from Egyptian art groups and exploring how they can be utilized to inspire textile print designs for curtains. Providing a historical study of Egyptian art groups as part of the broader history of contemporary Arab visual arts. Addressing modern textile printing techniques, particularly the use of chromatic inks.
Delimitations: Time limits: Since the emergence of art groups in the Arab world and Egypt, particularly in the mid-19th century. Geographical Limits: Egypt, as the country where the studied artistic groups originated. Objective limits: Stud ying Egyptian art groups and drawing inspiration from the artworks of their pioneers to create textile print designs for curtains.
Research Methodology: Historical Method: Through a historical study of Egyptian art groups as part of contemporary Arab visual art. Experimental (Applied Artistic) Method: This involves creating innovative design experiments and self-conducted virtual applications by the researcher, alongside showcasing potential textile printing techniques that can be applied.
Results: The researcher benefited from the theoretical study of Egyptian art groups and the presentation of selected examples from the works of their leading artists to understand the foundations and aesthetic values adopted by these artists in their creations. A proposed technological application suitable for printing curtain designs was presented to enhance aesthetic values through non-traditional technological means. After conducting a historical study of Egyptian art groups and showcasing some works by artists from these groups, a collection of designs was inspired, resulting in six design ideas suitable for implementation as curtain designs. Computer software and tools were utilized to design units and create the collection of six designs suitable for curtains. Additionally, virtual proposed applications were developed, saving time and effort and providing broader opportunities for innovative and distinguished solutions.
