من المناهج التي احتلت الصدارة منذ بداية القرن العشرين المنهج النفسي الذي تزعمه "سيغموند فرويد" Sigmund Freud، وطوره من بعده تلامذته، حيث عملوا على نشره، وحاولوا تطبيقه على النصوص الأدبية، كما طوروه، وزادوا عليه، وهو ما يسمى با"لنقد النفسي".
وإذا كان الناقد النفسي -في نظر شارل مورون- لا يرفع بصره عن النص منه يبدأ، وإليه يعود، فإن التحليل البنيوي يستند على أربعة منطلقات هي كالتالي:
1- اكتشاف البنى الداخلية اللاشعورية للظاهرة.
2- معالجة العناصر بناء على علاقاتها، وليس على أنها وحدات مستقلة.
3- ارتكاز البنيوية دائما على الأنظمة.
4- السعي إلى إقامة قواعد عامة عن طريق الاستنتاج، أو الاستقراء.
One of the approaches that has occupied the forefront since the beginning of the twentieth century is the psychological approach led by Sigmund Freud, and developed by his students after him, as they worked to spread it, and tried to apply it to literary texts, as they developed it, and added to it, which is called "psychological criticism".
 
If the psychological critic - in the view of Charles Moron - does not raise his eyes from the text from which he begins, and to which he returns, then structural analysis is based on four starting points - according to Leach - which are as follows:
1- Discovering the internal unconscious structures of the phenomenon.
2- Treating the elements based on their relationships, and not as independent units.
3- Structuralism is always based on systems.
4- Seeking to establish general rules through deduction or induction.
