This study investigated an urban humanization project in the Qassim region of Saudi Arabia, focusing on unintended consequences and disruptions to social cohesion within the community. Utilizing a case study approach, site observations, and interviews, we explored the project's impact on both users and neighboring residents. While the project's users generally expressed satisfaction with the recent improvements, neighboring residents raised concerns about the unregulated influx of outsiders into the neighborhood, which they felt disrupted local harmony and privacy. These findings highlight the importance of considering community dynamics and characteristics in urban planning. The study suggests the need for a multilevel planning approach that integrates local feedback and cultural nuances to enhance the effectiveness of humanization initiatives. By doing so, planners can create urban environments that not only foster improved living conditions but also generate integrated urban synergy, ensuring that developments are beneficial for both immediate users and the surrounding community.
