Abstract

Background: Adults with obesity are at increased risk of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). This study aimed to assess and compare diastolic function in non-comorbid obese. Methods: This comparative cross-sectional study included 150 asymptomatic medically free individuals with no documented CAD. The patients were divided into three equal groups: Group {A} individuals with BMI less than 25. Group {B} individuals with BMI more than 25 due to increased fat. Group {C} individuals with BMI more than 25 due to increased muscle mass. Results: E wave was significantly increased in C group in comparison to A and B groups. E wave was significantly decreased in B group in comparison to A group.
