Abstract

Abstract
The current research aimed to develop the Home Economics curriculum for first-grade preparatory school girls in light of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and measure its effectiveness in enhancing certain self-learning skills. The research utilized a descriptive analytical method and an experimental design with a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test for a single group. The experimental sample consisted of (30) female students, and research tools (Self-Learning Skills Scale) and experimental treatment materials were prepared.
The results of the research demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed curriculum in developing self-learning skills. The statistical analysis confirmed significant differences in favor of the post-test compared to the pre-test. Additionally, the results revealed a positive correlation between components of self-learning skills such as leadership, innovation, planning, and problem-solving.
One of the key recommendations of the research is to adopt a strategy for developing curricula in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, along with training teachers to implement teaching strategies that foster positive values and develop self-learning skills, which would enhance the ability of students to face future challenges in alignment with Egypt's Vision 2030.
