The pursuit of producing desert environments and urban spaces that suit their characteristics and those areas and how to deal with them is considered one of the requirements that grow the idea of ​​the importance of using them. By studying those characteristics, we find that there are many examples that express these characteristics and the efficiency of dealing with them. The study dealt with open urban spaces in terms of: identifying what is an urban space and open spaces. And by analyzing the material components of urban spaces from vertical and horizontal levels of floors and ceilings and their compatibility with the surrounding environment, which contains complementary architectural components such as natural elements of trees and terrain, and the furniture used in the spaces and the materials used in those spaces from stones and wood. By knowing the components of space and its definitions, spaces were analyzed based on the classification of spaces in terms of classifying urban spaces in Coptic monasteries according to the function, which determines the function of the space and affects its design, and classifying urban spaces in Coptic monasteries according to the planning levels, which determines the nature of the space in terms of the planning level of the urban space in terms of being a natural space, a constructed green space, or a constructed space, and classifying urban spaces in Coptic monasteries according to containment, which determines the extent of the proportionality of the space in its three dimensions with each other and its effect on shading and air movement. Hence, urban spaces in Coptic monasteries are clear examples of the idea of ​​harmony and compatibility with the surrounding desert environment, with an attempt to benefit from them in designing human desert settlements in the contemporary era.     إن السعي وراء انتاج بيئات وفراغات عمرانية صحراوية تناسب خصائصها و تلك المناطق وكيفية التعامل معها، يعتبر من المتطلبات التي تنمو فكرة أهمية استخدامها، وبدراسة تلك الخصائص، نجد أن هناك العديد من الأمثلة التي تعبر عن هذه الخصائص وكفاءة التعامل معها. وقد تناولت الدراسة الفراغات العمرانية المفتوحة من حيث: التعرف على ماهو الفراغ العمراني والفراغات المفتوحة. وبتحليل المكونات المادية للفراغات العمرانية من مستويات رأسية وأفقية من ارضيات وأسقف ومدى توافقها مع البيئة المحيطة، والتي تحوي مكونات معمارية مكملة كالعناصرر الطبيعية من اشجار وتضاريس، والاثاث المستخدم في الفراغات والمواد التي استخدمت في تلك الفراغات من احجار واخشاب. ومن خلال معرفة مكونات الفراغ وتعريفاته تم تحليل الفراغات بناءاً على تصنيف الفراغات من حيث تصنيف الفراغات العمرانية في الأديرة القبطية تبعا للوظيفة والتي يتحدد من خلالها وظيفة الفراغ والتي تؤثر على تصميمه، وتصنيف الفراغات العمرانية في الأديرة القبطية تبعا لمستويات التخطيط والتي يحدد بها ماهية الفراغ من حيث مستوى التخطيط للفراغ العمراني من
حيث كونه فراغ طبيعي، او فراغ اخضر مشيد، أو فراغ مشيد، وتصنيف الفراغات العمرانية في الأديرة القبطية تبعا للأحتواء والتي يحدد من خلالها مدى تناسب نسب الفراغ في ابعاده الثلاثة مع بعضها وتأثيرها على الإظلال وحركة الهواء. ومن هنا تعد الفراغات العمرانية في الأديرة القبطية من الأمثلة الواضحة على فكرة التناغم والتوافق مع البيئة الصحراوية المحيطة، مع محاولة الاستفادة منها في تصميم المستقرات البشرية الصحراوية في الوقت المعاصر.
