Abstract

Existing buildings consume a significant amount of energy in electricity that is used in ventilation, heating, cooling, and lighting. The sustainable retrofit strategy is becoming a more common trend in our modern century to improve energy efficiency for existing buildings. The research aims to explore the emphasis of energy retrofit measures for upgrading the energy performance of the existing buildings especially in commercial buildings. The CIB bank in smart village was chosen as a case study to evaluate the energy retrofit strategies that were upgraded in the building, through conducting a survey analysis depending on the simulation for existing banks and financial institutions of GPRS criteria to introduce the solutions into passive and active retrofit measures. The results come out with a theoretical framework for implementing energy retrofit for commercial buildings.
