The study mainly aims to identify the determinants of environmental behavior for start-ups in North Governorate. The study was conducted in the villages of Al-Brouk and Al-Jafjafa in North Sinai Governorate on a random sample of heads of households totaling 350 families. The data analysis used frequencies, percentages, simple correlation coefficient, partial and standard regression coefficient, correlation and stepwise regression, and alpha coefficient. The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are:
- The results showed that the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of the respondents towards environmental citizenship behavior, and the total degree of citizenship behavior were average.
- The results showed that the variables of educational level, membership of social organizations, satisfaction with the local community, opinion leadership, and political awareness are significantly related at 0.01 to each of the knowledge, attitude, implementation, and total degree of behavior with the behavior of the respondents towards environmental citizenship.
- The results revealed that the independent variables explain about 24.7% of the total variance in the respondents' knowledge of environmental citizenship behavior, with five variables contributing about 20.9% of this percentage: educational level, membership in social organizations, satisfaction with the local community, opinion leadership, and political awareness.
- The independent variables explain about 21.3% of the variance in the respondents' attitudes towards environmental citizenship behavior, as there are four variables: educational level, membership in social organizations, degree of interest in local community problems, and opinion leadership, which explain about 11.1% of this percentage, while it was found that eight variables explain about 34.4% of the variance in the respondents' practices towards environmental citizenship behavior. These variables are age, educational level, membership in social organizations, satisfaction with the local community, level of ambition, community facilities, and political awareness. However, only three variables were found to explain about 11.8% of this percentage. These variables are educational level, membership in social organizations, and political awareness. The results also showed that the independent variables combined explain about 36.4% of the variance in the total score towards the respondents' behavior in environmental citizenship. However, it was found that there are five variables that explain about 17.2% of this percentage. These variables are educational level, membership in social organizations, satisfaction with the local community, community facilities, opinion leadership, and political awareness.
