Abstract

Although, in the hospitality industry, women are considered the biggest asset since a hotel could not be a “home away from home" for a guest without a woman's touch. Women have emotional intelligence and are better at anticipating guest's requirements, and their feminine touch gives beauty and elegance to the hospitality sector. However, females are facing many challenges in recruitment in the hotel sector.
One of the apparent solutions for this problem that could be implemented is to increase awareness that women are the most essential component of the hospitality sector. Also, gender equality and provide more possibilities for women to hold leadership positions. Women faced many challenges while applying for work and while working in the hotel sector, among other things, women face obstacles in their job advancement and are underrepresented in the hotel business. In particular, business culture, social and cultural norms, and men's dominance in the field all contribute to gender imbalance in this sector. Even though women are outperforming males in a few areas, this still occurs. The study aims to shed light on assessing the challenges facing women's recruitment in the hotel sector.
To achieve the aim of the study, a sample of four- and five-star hotels in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, was under study. Questionnaires were directed to female employees in the hotel industry using the random sample method, and 212 forms were statistically analyzed.
