Abstract

Repetitive patterns that are hidden or visible in our visual perception, achieve the sustainability of life through its philosophy of change, development and continuity represented by the movement. The research examines the value of the repetitive pattern in creating all types of movement in the workspace to create compositions that are more effective in contemporary artworks. The researcher discussed this hypothesis by studying the nature of repetition and how to employ it in creating movement, and the psychology of visual perception in defining and reading movement activity through a repetitive pattern. Hence, the problem of research is studying repetition as a formative and design language and exploring the structure of composition through repetition in order to achieve that dynamic effectiveness from its most basic to its maximum extent.
The researcher therefore analysed all the types of movement, whether mental or real, achieved by repetitive patterns in various artworks through the analytical and descriptive approach. The researcher reached the goal of research that repetitive patterns can generate vibrations in the workspace, resulting in the formation of movement. The researcher studied the repetitive depictions of the human body, since they originated in movements through different situations, emotions, forms and lines. As a result of how the movement can be achieved from these repetitive depictions of the human body, the researcher has drawn theoretical conclusions, which she has used as the methodology for application in the practical framework of the research.
