Abstract

Digital manufacturing in glass through three-dimensional printing represents a major paradigm shift in the way glass products are designed and manufactured, which opens up opportunities to explore functions that are inaccessible by traditional technologies, so the availability of information on the development trends of three-dimensional printing in the field of glass production and forming, contributes to increasing the effectiveness of innovative activity, and the production of non-traditional glass products.
Accordingly, this research is related to the study of the development of three-dimensional printing trends, in the field of glass production and forming, addressing the trend of developing printers that can employ glass melt in forming and production, and developing manufacturing materials in addition to "glass material", to overcome high temperatures, and increase the ability to produce smaller and more complex shapes.
Hence, the problem of the research is the lack of information about the technical development of three-dimensional printing in the production and formation of glass during recent years, and therefore the aim of the research was to reach the technical trends of three-dimensional printing in the production and formation of glass.
Hence, the research hypothesis, is that identifying the most important technical trends of three-dimensional printing has a positive impact on achieving diverse methods in the production and formation of glass.
