This research mainly aimed to study the requirements for improving the productivity of small ruminants, by determining the knowledge degree of the animal production breeders studied about the requirements for improving the productivity of small ruminants, and identifying their sources of information, and the problems they face in this field, this research was conducted in Beheira Governorate in Egypt, Two districts were chosen randomly, namely the Wadi al-Natroun and Housh Eissa districts. In the same way, two villages were selected from each district, and a systematic random sample of 20% was taken from the total number of small ruminant's breeders in the selected villages, amounting to 720 breeders. The sample size reached 144 breeders respondent, The data was collected using a questionnaire in a personal interview during the month of June 2024, and the data was processed statistically using: frequencies, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, simple and multiple correlation coefficient, and partial and multiple regression coefficients, and the most important results were:-   74.3% of the respondents had a low or medium level of knowledge regarding the requirements for improving the productivity of small ruminants.-   The sources of information for the surveyed in this field were arranged in descending order according to their relative importance as follows: the veterinarian, neighbors and relatives, and the veterinary unit.-   The most important problems facing the respondents in this field were: the lack of financial liquidity among breeders, the high interest rates on loans, the high prices of green and concentrated feed, the high prices of improved breeds of sheep and goats, the high costs of transporting farm supplies, the lack of trained veterinary extension staff, and the scarcity of Veterinary extension services.
