Abstract

This research aimed to identify the degree of both job burnout among extension workers in Matrouh Governorate and the degree of their job performance, and to determine the relationship between both job burnout job performance, and the studied independent variables. A simple random sample of 120 respondents was selected using the Craigsie and Morgan equation representing 68.6% of the total extension workers and consider the relative distribution of the respondents in the research area. Field data was collected using personal interviews qustiannair during the period from May to July 2023. Frequency, percentages, arithmetic mean, standard deviation. Pearson correlation coefficient, and simple regression were used for data presenting and analysis. The main research results  1- The arithmetic average job burnout among the respondents carrying out agricultural extension work in the research area reached 2.69 degrees. with a standard deviation of 0.87150. with a rate of 67.31% in the middle category.  2- The arithmetic average job performance of the respondents carrying out agricultural extension work in the research area reached 2.49 degrees. with a standard deviation of 0.95227 of 62.36% in the middle category.  3 – There is a negative significant correlation at a moral level of 0.01 between the total dimensions of both job burnout and job performance among agricultural extension workers (R=-0.822)  4 - The value of (F=86.227), which is significant at a morale level of 0.01.This proves the negative effect of job burnout on the performance of the agriculture extension workers as the coefficient (B=- 0.437)  5 - The selection factor reached (R2=0.676), which means burnout explains an amount of 67.6%  of the variance of the job performance of the extension workers. the amount of the unexplained variance is about  32.4% my attributed to other variables.
