Abstract

The study's goals were to determine the degree of knowledge of the respondents who work in the agricultural extension system about comprehensive quality standards in agricultural extension work, the extent of their application, and the relationship of the characteristics of the respondents to the degree of their knowledge and application of these standards.
A sample of 120 participants from extension staff in Beheira Governorate was surveyed using a questionnaire administered through personal interviews. Data collection took place in July and August 2023. After collecting the data, statistical analysis was conducted using frequency tables, percentages, weighted averages, simple correlation coefficients, and the chi-square test.
The results were summarized as follows:
- Three-fifths of the participants (60%) demonstrated a high overall level of knowledge regarding quality standards in agricultural extension.
- Nearly half of the participants (47.5%) exhibited a moderate overall level of application of quality standards in agricultural extension.
- There was a negative relationship between the age of the participants and their knowledge and application of comprehensive quality standards in agricultural extension.
- A positive relationship was found between the number of quality training courses, exposure to information sources, the overall knowledge of the participants regarding comprehensive quality standards, and their application of these standards.
- These findings contribute to understanding the current state of knowledge and application of quality standards among agricultural extension workers in the Beheira Governorate.- The study highlights the importance of continuous training and access to information sources to enhance the application of comprehensive quality standards in agricultural extension. The research results provide valuable insights for practitioners, policymakers, and researchers interested in improving the effectiveness of agricultural extension services.
