This research mainly aimed to identify the behavior of farmers towards modern irrigation techniques in rationalizing the use of irrigation water in Beheira Governorate, which can be achieved through the following sub-objectives: identifying some of the personal characteristics of the farmers in question, identifying the behavior of the farmers in question towards modern irrigation technologies in the research area. Through: A) identifying the knowledge level of the farmers studied about modern irrigation techniques, b) Identifying the trend of the surveyed farmers towards modern irrigation techniques, c) Identifying the level of application of modern irrigation techniques by the surveyed farmers, studying the correlational and regression relationships between the level of knowledge, attitudes, and application of the researched farmers of modern irrigation technologies and the independent variables studied, identifying the degree of existence of problems facing The farmers studied looked at modern irrigation techniques to rationalize the use of irrigation water, and their proposals for solving them.
The research results showed that 92.4% of the farmers surveyed had low or medium levels of knowledge about modern techniques for rationalizing the use of irrigation water, and that approximately one-third of the number of farmers surveyed 32.4% had neutral attitudes, and 67.6% had positive attitudes toward using modern irrigation technologies. And (76.8%) have a low and medium application level for using modern technologies in rationalizing the use of irrigation water, while 23.2% of them have a high application level,and The most important suggestions mentioned by the surveyed farmers to overcome the problems they face regarding the use of modern irrigation techniques to rationalize the use of irrigation water were summarized, and they were arranged in descending order according to their frequency from the perspective of the surveyed farmers, as follows: Providing machines that help in leveling the soil by 83.6%, government contribution. In disinfecting canals and drains by 80%, educating farmers about the optimal use of irrigation water and using modern methods in rationalizing irrigation water by 74%.
