Abstract

The research problem lies in the emergence of architectural buildings that lack visual identity, as these structures fail to harmonize with their surrounding environment and are designed in styles that do not reflect the cultural and historical richness of their locations. This has resulted in the proliferation of box-like concrete buildings across various regions, disregarding the heritage and cultural identity of these areas.
The research aims to develop designs for university dormitory rooms that align with modern trends by drawing inspiration from cultural heritage and traditional legacies, while emphasizing the unique visual identity of the New Valley region. The significance of this research lies in addressing a pressing societal issue: the fading of cultural heritage and traditional legacies in many governorates. It also seeks to revive and preserve this heritage in its original contexts, positively impacting the aesthetic vision of the community and individuals' behavior.
The research adopts a descriptive approach to analyze the theoretical framework, followed by an analytical method to gain a deeper understanding of the addressed issues. The study is complemented by field research to evaluate the current reality, culminating in a design proposal that applies mechanisms inspired by the heritage of the New Valley to the design of university residence rooms.
