Abstract

this research aimed to identify the degree of the cognitive component of the respondents' attitudes of rural youth towards the studied forms of deviant behavior, the degree of the emotional component of their attitudes, identify the degree of the behavioral component of their attitudes, determining the nature of the overall trends for them, and knowing the reasons for the spread of each form of deviant behavior, as well as their suggestions to limit its spread. The data were collected by questionnaire forms from 384 rural youth in Sohag governorate, Egypt, frequencies, percentages and Spearman rank order correlation coefficient, were used for data presentation and analysis. The most important results were: the largest age groups of respondents are in the age group of 18-25 years, and more than three-quarters of them (76.3%) have a monthly income of less than 4000 thousand pounds, and more than half of them 54.7% have a high cultural openness, and the vast majority of them are 88, 8% have a high degree of family cohesion; the majority of respondents 82.8%, their level of agreement towards rejecting drug addiction behavior within their society in general is high, and more than half of the respondents 51.6% their level of agreement towards rejecting internet addiction behavior within their society in general is high, and the vast majority of respondents 86.5% their level of agreement with the trend towards non-acceptance of sexual harassment behavior within their community overall is high; there is a direct correlation between the monthly family income, community participation, religious intolerance, familial intolerance, and family cohesion for the rural youth respondents, and their total attitudes towards the studied forms of deviant behavior.
