Abstract

The research aimed to determine the awareness degree of the respondents in both rural and urban Kafr El-Sheikh governorate of the social, economic, psychological, and health effects of the spread of the Corona virus, as well as determining the degree of their social responsibility to support government efforts in the face of the virus, and the relationship of awareness of the studied effects with the degree of social responsibility to support efforts and determining the relative contribution of the studied independent variables in explaining the total variance among the respondents in terms of the degree of their awareness of the studied effects, and testing the significance of differences between the respondents from rural and urban areas in terms of the degree of their awareness of the studied effects. The research was conducted in Kafr El-Sheikh governorate, Egypt on a sample of 200 female respondents, 100 female respondents from the Kafr El-Sheikh district attended, and 100 female respondents from the village of Rouena, affiliated to the same district, and they were chosen at random. A questionnaire was used for data collection that was prepared for this purpose and collected during the months of March and April 2021. Frequencies, percentages, Pearson's simple correlation, “T" and “F" tests, and Stepwise Multiple Correlation and Regression Techniques were used in data analysis. The most important results are summarized as follows:

The level of awareness of urban respondents about the social, economic, psychological, and health effects of the spread of the Corona virus is higher than the awareness of respondents from the countryside.
The percentage of urban respondents in the category of high level of awareness of antiquities in total reached 29%, compared to 11% in rural areas.
The level of urban respondents' sense of social responsibility to support government efforts to confront the Corona virus is higher than that of rural respondents, as it reached 23% in the high-level category in urban areas, compared to 13% in rural areas.
There are significant differences between the awareness of rural and urban respondents of the social, economic, psychological, and health effects of the spread of the Corona virus, and these differences are in favor of urban respondents.
The presence of three independent variables: the age of the respondent, the number of years of education of the respondent, the degree of informal social participation contributes by 23.1% to explaining the total discrepancy between the respondents from the countryside in terms of their awareness of the effects of the spread of the Corona virus as a whole, while there are four variables which are the age of The respondents, the number of years of education of the husband, the degree of informal social participation, and information sources contribute by 31.6% to explaining the total discrepancy between urban respondents in terms of their awareness of the effects of the spread of Corona virus in general.
