يعتبر الأجر عنصرًا من العناصر الأساسية في عقد العمل، وذلك لأنه تتداخل في نطاقه وجهات النظر الحقوقية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية، فمن وجهة النظر الاقتصادية، فإن الأجر عنصر أساسي في تكلفة الإنتاج، ومن ناحية الحقوق الاجتماعية فهو وسيلة العيش للعامل ولمن يعولهم، لذلك من الواجب الاعتداد بالطابع الحيوي للأجر، نتيجة لاعتباره المورد الوحيد أو الأساسي لرزق العامل، بل ورفاهيته، وقد تضمن هذا البحث ماهية الأجر، من حيث تعريفه وشروط استحقاقه وأهميته، وكذلك طرق تحديده، سواء باتفاق الطرفين أو بواسطة اللجنة المختصة، كما تضمن البحث أنواع الأجر من حيث الأجر النقدي والأجر العيني، وكذلك الحماية القانونية للأجور، مثل تحديد حد أدنى لها، كما اشتمل البحث على أحكام الوفاء بالأجر، سـواء مكان الوفاء أو زمانـه ووسائل إثبات العامـل وكذلك اشتمل البحث على ضمانات الوفاء بالأجر، فتم تناول حق الامتياز للعامل على الأجر وحماية الأجر في مواجهة صاحب العمل، وكذلك حماية الأجر من الدائنين ومن نفسه، ثم اختتم البحث بخاتمة اشتملت على بعض النتائج ذات الأهمية، وكذلك بعض التوصيات التي نأمل أن تكون ذات فائدة. The wage is considered one of the basic elements in the employment contract, because the legal, economic, and social viewpoints overlap within its scope. From the economic point of view, the wage is an essential element in the cost of production, and from the social rights standpoint, it is the means of livelihood for the worker and those whom he supports. This research tackles the nature of the wage, in terms of its definition, conditions of entitlement and importance, as well as methods for determining it whether by agreement of the two parties or by the competent committee. The research touches on types of wages in terms of cash wages and wages in kind, as well as the legal protection for wages, such as setting a minimum for them. The research also discusses terms of wage payments, including the place and time of payment and means of proving that the worker has been paid. The worker's privileges, the protection of the wage against the employer, and the protection of the wage from creditors have been discussed.
