Abstract

The prevalence of the phenomenon of smoking affects 4 to 6 million annually with disorders of the metabolic and endocrine system, including Sex Hermon binding globulin: glycoprotein that creates by hepatocyte. This study attempted to explain the changes in hormones and some physical characteristics in people who smoke regularly. The total volunteers for this study were 87 men who were divided into two groups (31 as controls with 56 as smokers), (Mean ± SE) (31.20 ± 1.72), several measurements were taken, includes: Sex globulin binding hormone which was statistically analyzed, there was a significant increase in the levels of Sex globulin binding hormone in smokers(p value < 0.05), with no change in the levels of testosterone concentration in both groups, there are also changes in the metabolic rates of smokers compared to the controls. The increase in smoking rates affects the disruption of some hormones related to the reproductive system in adult men. Also, excessive smoking has a strong impact on high sugar levels and main cause for diabetes mellitus (DM).
