Abstract

The Toxic effects, of ten commercial pesticides (Garden Blue 50% SC, Kuick 90%SP, Mon-Big 48%EC, New-Tegrox 27.4%EC, Pyra- Blue 30%EC, Propimax 25%EC, Fungi morth 69%WP, Atramactine 1.8%EC, Mite Bro 43%SC; and Kalash 50%WDG were evaluated on green lacewing, Chrysoperla carnea under laboratory conditions at 25˚C, 65±5R.Hand14:10 (L.D) photophase. The percent mortality was determined for tested pesticide by leaf dip bioassay and by eggs, of the Sitotroga cerealella, immersion (as food). The LC50 values of pesticides were varied between pesticides. LC50 of tested pesticides were 520, 120, 6000, 3500, 5600, 5000, 3000, 40, 240; and 650ppm, respectively after 72h post treatments eggs immersion of S. cerealella (feed). The corresponding LC50 in the case of exposed to leaves treated with pesticides were: 200, 80, 210, 230, 260, 1500, 3400, 30, 180; and 400ppm, respectively. The results clearly indicated that direct action by leaf dip technique was more toxic than indirect action by eggs immersion of S. cerealella. All experiments were studied on 2nd larval instar of C. carnea (1 day old). The rate of application for all tested pesticides was evaluated at the recommended dose. The rate of application in the field for 2nd larval instar of the green lacewing was studied in 200 L.waterfed-1. The rates were 200cm3, 300 gm, 1liter, 1liter, 150 cm3, 500 cm3, 500 gm, 100 cm3, 70 cm3 and 100 gm product.The mortality was recorded after 1, 3, 5 and 7 days after exposure to pesticides.
