Abstract

The Popular markets are an important pillar in the development of tourism and a means to attract tourism. They reflect the lives of people's customs and traditions and the fragrance of history. Popular tourist sites attract a large number of visitors and tourists to buy crafts and to identify the heritage of the region. Egypt, characterized by many markets, is full of traditional handicrafts industries. Most tourists are keen to visit the Kerdassa tourist market to buy the Egyptian traditional handicrafts and tourist souvenirs that traditionally characterized other popular markets. The village of Kerdassa had turned from a local village to a tourist site with a prominent position on the tourist map, using simple tools from the local environment. The study will make it possible to enhance the services and the tourist village in general to compete with the tourist villages and towns elsewhere in the world. The research aims at maintaining the sustainability of the popular markets also to rehabilitate and develop them as an economic, cultural and tourist. In addition, it aims at maintaining the character of the local heritage associated with the legacy of Egypt and its high potential of the handicrafts, the cultural heritage, the customs and the traditions of the society, which is considered a tourist attraction. The research generally recommends planning a strategy for the development and rehabilitation of the popular markets in Egypt. In particular, it recommends putting a strategy to develop, rehabilitate and promote tourism in the market of Kerdassa village to become a popular heritage tourist site for the long term, including all aspects of tourism and traditional crafts.
