Abstract

Purpose
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of customized acquisition parameters on image quality in cardiac perfusion imaging using the SPECT/CT Symbia Intevo Excel system. Specifically, it aims to assess how changes in matrix size, number of views, and acquisition time impact the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) and Contrast-to-Noise Ratio (CNR) in cardiac images.

Materials and Methods
This study used the SPECT/CT Symbia Intevo Excel imaging system with a 128x128 matrix, acquiring 32 views with 30 seconds per view. To enhance image quality, the Butterworth filter was applied. The SNR and CNR values were calculated to quantitatively assess image quality with a series of test images obtained under these customized acquisition settings.

Results
The customized acquisition parameters resulted in a significant improvement in both SNR and CNR compared to standard settings. These optimized parameters led to clearer and more detailed images, enhancing the visibility of cardiac structures and abnormalities. Statistical analysis validated these improvements, showing a significant enhancement in image quality.

Conclusion
This study demonstrates that customizing acquisition parameters in the Symbia Intevo Excel SPECT/CT system can significantly improve image quality in cardiac perfusion imaging. The findings highlight the importance of optimizing acquisition protocols to improve diagnostic outcomes and patient care. Further research is suggested to explore additional factors impacting image quality and to help establish standardized protocols in cardiac imaging.
