Abstract

The effect of potassium, boron and fulvic acid spraying on quality and shelf life of Zebda mango fruits was study during three successive seasons 2021, 2022 and 2023. Fruits were harvested and directly transported to the laboratory were washed and dried then treated. The treated fruits were packaged in carton boxes and kept at room temperature during shelf life for 15 days. Fruit samples were taken at harvest and at five days intervals during shelf life to evaluate fruit quality and storability. Treated fruits with potassium, boron and fulvic acid significantly reduced the deterioration of physical and chemical characteristics. Moreover, this study confirmed that, treatments effectively increased fruit storability comparison to untreated fruits (control). This study illustrated that, spraying either of potassium and boron or potassium and boron plus fulvic acid are the promising strategy for keeping postharvest quality and increasing shelf life and marketing period of mangoes cv. ‘Zebda' up to 15 days.
