Abstract

This study delves into the role of body language in political and business negotiations, as well as the basic differences and influencing factors between the two. The study found that while body language plays an important role in both types of negotiations, there are significant differences in the focus and scope of its application. In political negotiations, body language is more used to demonstrate authority, convey implicit information, and build trust. The complexity and high stakes of such negotiations require negotiators to adopt more sophisticated and strategic non-verbal communication methods. In contrast, body language in business negotiations focuses more on expressing confidence, capturing the other party's signals and adjusting strategies, aiming to build trust and promote effective communication.           The study also pointed out that the main differences between political negotiations and business negotiations stem from differences in their goals, scope, audience, strategies and cultural backgrounds. A limitation of this study is that it focused on body language without fully considering other factors that influence negotiation. Future research should adopt empirical research methods, consider cross-cultural differences, and utilize advanced techniques to analyze body language to provide a more comprehensive understanding and application.
