يتناول هذا البحث دراسة أثر مسألة "شرط العموم :الاستغراق أو الاجتماع؟ على تعريف العام اصطلاحا عند الأصوليين،حيث تعد هذه المسألة من أبرز المسائل المنهجية التي ارتبطت بتعريفه وتأثر بها هذا المصطلح منذ وقت مبكر من التصنيف الأصولي.

وكان أبرز التوجهات في تعريف العام اصطلاحا-المتأثرة بمسألة "شرط العموم الاستغراق أو الاجتماع ": تعريف العام اصطلاحا باعتبار الكثرة والاجتماع وعدم اشتراط الاستغراق فيه،وتعريفه باعتبار الاستغراق والاستيعاب .

وقد عرض البحث أبرز التعريفات لهذين التوجهين بالتسلسل التاريخي في الجملة،وبيَّنت وجه استناد كل توجه،وأبرز الاعتراضات الواردة عليه،وأثر شرط العموم فيه،ثم تناولت أقرب هذه التوجهات في نظري إلى الحق،وسبب ذلك.

وقد عرض البحث ذلك من خلال: - تمهيد في: التعريف بمسألة شرط العموم الاستغراق أو الاجتماع ، وأربعة مطالب في: العلاقة بين مسألة «اشتراط الاستغراق في العموم» و«تعريف العام اصطلاحا»،والعام اصطلاحا عند القائلين بالاجتماع والكثرة، وأثر شرط العموم فيه، والعام اصطلاحا عند القائلين بالاستغراق والاستيعاب، وأثر شرط العموم فيه والترجيح ووجه رجحانه، ثم خاتمة في: نتائج البحث وتوصياته، والله الموفق.   Abstract: This research deals with the study of the impact of the issue of the condition of the general: absorption or meeting on the definition of the general idiomatically when the fundamentalists, as this issue is one of the most prominent methodological issues that have been associated with its definition and influenced by this term since early in the fundamentalist classification. The most prominent trends in the definition of the general idiomatically affected by the issue of the condition of the general absorption or meeting: the definition of the general idiomatically as the multitude and the meeting and the non-requirement of absorption in it, and its definition as absorption and absorption. The research presented the most prominent definitions of these two trends in the historical sequence in the sentence, and between the face of the basis of each orientation, and the most prominent objections contained therein, the impact of the general condition in it, and then dealt with the closest of these trends in the view of the researcher to the right, and the reason for that. The research presented this through: a preamble in the definition of the issue of the condition of the general absorption or meeting, and four demands in: the relationship between the issue of the requirement of absorption in general and the definition of the general idiomatically, and the general idiomatically when those who say the meeting and the multitude, and the impact of the general condition in it, and the general idiomatically when those who say absorption and absorption, and the impact of the general condition in it and weighting and the face of its preponderance, and then a conclusion in: the results of the research and its recommendations, and God bless.
