Abstract

The environmental dimension is the most important dimension in sustainable development, because environmental development will undoubtedly lead to achieving economic development through the preservation of resources and their optimal exploitation. It also contributes to raising the level of social welfare by providing a clean environment. It is known that there are many important environmental issues, Which falls within the framework of the atmosphere and its changes, including climate change, the ozone hole, and air quality. The effects of these issues are directly linked to human health and the stability and balance of the ecosystem. Therefore, the study aimed to identify the determinants of environmental pollution in the study community and to identify some of the variables that can affect the environment. According to the opinion of the respondents, the study also aimed to identify the most important factors affecting the respondents' perception of the degree to which determinants of sustainable development exist in the field of environmental pollution.
Therefore, a sample of 380 individuals was selected from the families of the selected villages, where three villages were selected from three centers in Luxor Governorate according to the population size. The data was collected using a questionnaire form designated for the purpose of the study, and the data was analyzed statistically using the SPSS program. The most important results indicated that the vast majority of the sample members confirmed that the degree of presence of pollution determinants related to the field of food pollution is high, as their percentage reached 50.79%, which confirms There is food pollution among this group and they have sufficient awareness, in complete contrast to the group that confirmed the absence of determinants to a high degree in the field of food pollution, whose percentage ranged from 3.16%, which confirms that the determinants in this regard are high and they are often farmers who have high awareness. The degree of food pollution. The study recommended paying attention to increasing studies in the field of sustainable development and paying attention to food pollution as well, as it is one of the important areas that hinder the work of sustainable development.
