-Abstract
The artwork is often resulting from pain and torment through which the artist subconsciously tries to get rid of what they suffer from as a healthy body tries to get rid of a harmful germ; the artwork of the creative artist may aim to get rid of the repressed energy that has accumulated in their heart for long times. Thus, we can understand to what extent art can be an outlet.
An inspired artist is in no way satisfied with the reality around them; therefore, they create another reality to replace that painful unsatisfactory reality. The frustration and pain that inhabits the inspired creator infect them with a sort of energy that leads them towards creativity to escape such sense of alienation and incompatibility with people and things around them. The imagination and innovation of the creator then seem to compensate for what they suffer in reality; as “Edvard Munch" did in “The Scream", as he resorted to changing the features of the human face giving it the appearance of idiocy as if the face was melting.
Pain can be a driving force towards creativity and a cause of transformations in the artistic experience; like what “Frida Kalou" did by focusing on the external environment i.e. the environment in which she was present through suggesting a strange atmosphere while focusing on images of isolation and trying to connect with her reality.
