Abstract

The study aimed to examine the effect of dictogloss YouTube videos on developing the listening comprehension and vocabulary skills of primary school students. The study adopted a quasi-experimental design. The sample of the study consisted of a group of sixty primary school students. The sample for the study has been assigned to an experimental group (n = 30) and a control group (n = 30). The instruments of the study included a listening comprehension and vocabulary skills checklist and pre-and post-tests for listening comprehension and vocabulary skills. Results revealed that there were statistically significant differences at 0.01 levels for the overall listening comprehension and vocabulary skills in favor of the post-test. Results were discussed in relation to several factors. Finally, the study provided beneficial contributions in relation to implementing the proposed dictagloss YouTube videos in EFL classrooms.
