Abstract

In the past two decades, the world has witnessed continuous technical developments that are considered a qualitative and radical shift in the science of communication. Among these developments is the construction and operation of the Internet, which has covered the entire world and has become an effective means of achieving rapid communication between individuals and groups. Social media networks have contributed to the spread of electronic rumors. It has been noted that Recently, rumors have spread and are quickly circulated among members of society through social networking sites, as a result of the ease of republishing content and the speed of sending it to a large number of people in a short time. In light of the absence of correct information and news on issues of concern to society, as well as the absence of restrictions on the circulation of information and the lack of clarity of the legal responsibility that results from publication through these means, this has led to their bad use by people with malicious souls and terrorist groups to stir up fear and strife in society Despite the effectiveness of the means of communication and serving the public, they have a negative role in spreading rumors and false news that cannot be classified, and they are exploiting them for personal purposes, such as attacking individuals for personal reasons, religious purposes, or specific affiliations.
