-Abstract
This research aims to investigate and study a limestone stelae discovered in Abydos. The stelae is divided into three sections containing written texts and recorded scenes. Observations revealed the presence of artistic elements and religious symbols, such as offerings and the offering table, along with the depiction of vessels presented as offerings to the owner of the stelae. The stelae takes the form of a tapered top. The first section contains a formula presenting the offerings in three horizontal lines engraved in relief. The second and third sections feature the main scene of the stelae.
The stelae will be examined through a linguistic and artistic analytical study using a descriptive and comparative methodology. This will be applied to the linguistic structures and formulations present on the stelae, in addition to scrutinizing and analyzing the artistic elements and their symbolic significance in ancient Egyptian beliefs. The comparative historical approach will be employed to establish an accurate timeline for the studied panel. The stelae is preserved in the Grand Museum and is assigned a specific catalog number: GEM 15578.
