Abstract
Background: Climate change is one of the greatest threats facing humankind today and great challenge for the health sector. Aim: The study aims to assess nursing students' awareness regarding climate change. Study Design: Descriptive design was utilized. Setting: This study conducted in Faculty of Nursing, Helwan University. Sample: A convenient sample of 200 nursing students from 4th year. Results: 42% of studied nursing students had satisfactory knowledge, 63% of them had negative attitudes and 39.5% of them had inadequate reported practices regarding climate change. Conclusion: More than two fifths of the studied nursing students had satisfactory knowledge, near two thirds of them had negative attitudes and about two fifths of them had inadequate reported practices regarding climate change. Also there was a highly statistical significant correlation between nursing students' total level of knowledge, their attitudes & reported practices regarding climate change Recommendations: Implement an educational program to raise awareness about climate change and its adverse health effects.
