Abstract

The research aimed to identify the obstacles to the application of agricultural waste recycling methods from the point of view of farmers in Dakahlia Governorate through: Identifying the sources of information from which the respondents derive their information on agricultural waste recycling methods, identifying the practices of the surveyed farmers (traditional and non-traditional) for recycling agricultural waste, identifying the services provided by agricultural extension in the field, and  identifying I have obstacles to the application of methods of recycling agricultural waste from the point of view of the surveyed farmers, and this research has been conducted in Dakahlia Governorate as one of the main governorates in the cultivation of field crops, and the three largest districts in the governorate were selected in terms of cultivated area of rice, corn, and cotton crops, and they are the districts of Mansoura, Aja, Belqas and in the same way the two largest villages belonging to the studied districts were chosen, namely (Mit Al-Amel, Nous). A Gheit (Mansoura districts), Mit Mahmoud, Badin (Aja districts), Al-Ma'sara First, Al-Ma'sara Second Belqas districts). The total number of farmers in the selected villages was 15.207 farmers representing the comprehensive research, and the equation of Craigsy and Morgan was used to determine the sample size, and the sample items were selected in a regular random manner, reaching 375 respondents representing 2.4% of the comprehensive research, and field data were collected using the A statement OF the personal interview, and the arithmetic mean, weighted average, tabular presentation in frequencies, and percentage were used in data analysis. And draw the results of the research. The most important results were: Organizational and administrative obstacles ranked first with a weighted average of 2.57%, followed by financial obstacles in second place with a weighted average of 2.5%, and obstacles related to recycling plant waste ranked third with a weighted average of 2.03%. As for information sources, the results showed the respondents relied mainly on (large farmers) to obtain their information regarding agricultural waste recycling methods, as it came in first place with a weighted average value of 2.48%, followed by personal experience in second place with a weighted average value of 2.27. The results also indicated that 50% of the respondents use traditional practices to dispose of agricultural waste by chopping, and 81.3% of them benefit from it by directly feeding animals such as wheat straw. The results also indicated that awareness of the importance of recycling agricultural waste was one of the most important services provided by the extension agency in the field of waste recycling. With a weighted average of 1.20%, followed by implementing demonstration piles to rotate the rows for farmers to follow, with a weighted average of 1.05%.
