Knowledge of fishermen of technical recommendations related to fishing in morra lakes, lake timsah and suez Canal in Ismailia Governorate

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the level of knowledge of the surveyed fishermen of the technical indicative recommendations related to the fishing process in Ismailia Governorate, and the correlation between the degree of knowledge of the surveyed fishermen about the technical recommendations of the fishing process and each of the independent variables studied in the research area, and then identifying the sources from which the fishermen of the respondents derive their information About the fishing process, the most important problems they face during the fishing process, and their suggestions for solving these problems.
       This research was conducted in the area of ​​Lake Timsah, Bitter Lakes and Suez Canal in Ismailia Governorate on a random sample of 346 respondents from fishermen. The data was collected using the questionnaire form by personal interview during the month of December 2.21. The data was processed statistically through frequencies, percentages, average arithmetic, and Pearson's simple correlation coefficient .
The most important findings of the research were the following:
They were asked about the technical recommendations of the factors affecting the determination of the appropriate date to stop fishing in the lake:
The received results showed that slightly less than half of the surveyed fishermen (44%) had a medium level of knowledge, and (39%) of them fell into the low level of knowledge, and that just under one fifth of the surveyed fishermen (17%) had a high level of knowledge.
- While the knowledge level of the fishermen surveyed was high for each of the packages of recommendations: fishing dates, types of fishing boats, fishing tools, seasons of fish availability (spawning dates), and recommendations necessary to maintain the quality of fish when traded and displayed in percentages: 63% , 64%, 77%, 57% and 53%, respectively.
- he most important sources from which the respondents' fishermen derive their information about the fishing process in the research area were ranked in descending order according to what the respondents' fishermen mentioned with the presence of the source or not, in frequencies and percentages as follows: Friends of experienced fishermen (9.%), and the fisheries area in Ismailia (86%),
- It turns out that there is a direct significant relationship at the ...1 level with only five of the studied independent variables: the degree of education of the respondent, the duration of work in the lake, the number of loans, and the degree of tendency towards agricultural extension services.
-The most important problems encountered by the fishermen surveyed during the fishing process were ranked in descending order as follows: lack of a source of funding by (92%), difficulty in obtaining licenses for children by (87%), and the migration of fishermen to cities by (86%).
The most important proposals of the fishermen were: Work to support the fishermen by providing maintenance workshops for the boats.
