Abstract

Date production in Egypt ranks high cultivation in all governorates, number fruitful palm trees increased by about 20.6% during period 2010/2022, While decreased at Damietta Governorate by about 13.5%, Productivity decreased by about 8.4%,The production capacity decreased by about 13.6% during that period, despite small agricultural area, However, ranks sixth terms fruitful palm trees about 5.7%, and eighth terms production about 5.2% during period 2018/2020, because most farmers cultivate date palms. The study targeted economics value-added chains for date palm and manufacture secondary products, as important for creating job opportunities. It's based estimating equations Growth, Investment Performance Efficiency: B/CRatio، (PPC), (IRR)، Sensitivity Analysis، Fchow&t-test group, Also used data from simple random sample of palm growers, addition to published secondary data. Important results:(1) Number fruitful date palms in Damietta represents about 6.2% the republic, which amounts to 13.5 million during period 2010-2022, with statistically significant annual growth rate 1.90%, while statistical significance was not proven the governorate, with productivity rate about 0.70%, 1.90% respectively. (2) Productivity increased between flood and drip irrigation patterns from about 127:131 kg/palm, with a profit margin about 67.43%:72.77%. (3) Expanding date palm cultivation as achieves high net investments with expected (IRR) of 66.74% to about 82.27% (4) Expanding manufacturing date palm by-products in Damietta, they are low-cost projects do not exceed 16 thousand/project and generate expected profit margin 16%:26%, and net added value for human labor unit of 3.2:4.5, and total added value about 6.7:7.8 thousand pounds/month if the worker is the owner of the project
