The main concern of the study is to investigate the social economic features of fishers and their families to identify the most persisting problems in order to formulate social economic programs for maintaining of the lakes fisheries and to raise standard of living of the fishers particularly the Government of Egypt that is looking now for implementing an initiative so-called "dignity life of citizen" .The study deals also with the estimation of the statistical correlation of these features and the existing problems and the inter relations of some of these features and its impact on health status of fishers and their adoption of legal or illegal fishing methods.
To realize the study objectives, quantitative and qualitative data about the subject of the study has been collected on questionnaire basis330 statistical forms has been filled up,30 forms has been rejected, the remaining forms (300) is representing about18.3% of fishers community in the entire lake.
The questionnaire forms contain quantitative and qualitative questions on 22 features of fisher's livelihood and their families. It was used some statistical analysis such as frequency distribution, Arithmetic mean, simple correlation, chi square relative congruence coefficient will be estimated.
Results of the study revealed the spread of illiteracy among fishers, less tendency for attending extension or training programs resulting in weak and less acceptance for adopting new fishing methods or techniques than their traditional experienced methods. The spread of (ignorance, poverty and disease) Triangle which led to low standard of living of fishers and their Families.
The existing income levels are low, but still under the critical level as identified by the government. Magnitude of fish catch form the lake has been decreased noticeably due to adoption of illegal fishing method which is affecting the fish stocks sustainability.
In spite of membership of most fishers in their cooperative societies they are not satisfied with its role in their society. Statistical analysis revealed significant correlation between illegal fishing and both the fishermen's age and education statement.
Several recommendations have been reached in order to raise socio-economic standard of living of fishers and their families and to maintain the biological sustainability of the lake's fisheries.
