Abstract

This Research aimed mainly to study Agricultural Knowledge Management in the Agricultural Extension organization in El-Beheira Governorate from the Viewpoint of Extension Workers; and that by achieving the following objectives: 1-Identifying the degree of extension workers' awareness of the concept and importance of knowledge management, 2-Determining the Degree of Agricultural Extension Organization Practice for The Following Agricultural knowledge management processes (Knowledge Diagnosis, Knowledge Acquisition, Knowledge Storage, knowledge sharing and dissemination, and Knowledge Application) from the Extension Workers' Viewpoint, 3- Identifying the obstacles that prevent Knowledge Management Practice in the Agricultural Extension Organization from the Extension Workers' Viewpoint.
     This Research was conducted in El-Beheira Governorate, The population of this Research included all Extension workers in the Agricultural Extension organization in El-Beheira Governorate, who amounted to a total of (256) Respondents, the random sample amounted to (154) Respondents from the total number of Extension workers; the questionnaire was used to collect data for this research through personal interviews with the extension workers., and excluded four questionnaires because of incomplete data, the statistical methods used for data analysis were: percentages, means, relative weight, and standard deviation; By using the Statistical Program spss.
The main Results of this research were:
1-The results explained that the degree ofExtension workers' awareness of the concept and importance of knowledge management was High, with a relative weight of 85.7%.
2-The results showed that the degree of Agricultural Extension Organization Practice for Agricultural knowledge management processes, in general, was Medium, with a relative weight of 77.1%, and the degree of Practice for each Process was as follows: the degree of Agricultural Knowledge Diagnosis Practice was Medium, with a relative weight of 77.6%, the degree of Agricultural Knowledge Acquisition Practice was Medium, with a relative weight of 80.2%, the degree of Agricultural Knowledge Storage Practice was Medium, with a relative weight of 68.9%, the degree of Agricultural Knowledge sharing and dissemination Practice was Medium, with a relative weight of 80.8%, and the degree of Agricultural Knowledge Application Practice was Medium, with a relative weight of 77.8%.
3-The Most Important obstacles that prevent Knowledge Management Practice in the Agricultural Extension Organization were: Lack of dedicated financial support for knowledge management, with a relative weight of 88.3%; Lack of independent organizational units supervising Knowledge Management, with a relative Weight of 88%; Lack of Positive incentives that encourage employees to Knowledge Management Application, with a relative Weight of 88%; Weakness of utilization of the available technology in the organization, with a relative Weight of 87.7%; and inadequate Devices and systems supporting knowledge management processes, with a relative Weight of 84%.
